This inspiring video, presented by Jordan Osmond, shows a wonderful camper van that was a complete custom build. It was built on a Fiat Ducato Maxi 2016 Turbo Diesel, and has had a full solar power system installed with lithium batteries.
This van has a beautiful all-wood custom interior with numerous innovative features. Looking completely plain on the outside gives you no idea what you are in store for!
Clare made a decision to get rid of the house, pay off the mortgage and change her lifestyle into one that gave her contentment instead of stress. “I needed it to be beautiful” she said, and we can see that she sure did achieve that objective. It’s gorgeous. The kitchen looks more like a country kitchen in a home and you almost would not know that you were inside a van!
As with other van builds, we can see artful use of space in order to maximise storage and “make things disappear”. Vans are never going to be big, spacious homes – and you are going to need to stow a fair number of things in order to take some of the conveniences of your life with you. It’s going to be cosy at best.
Clare spent a year on the design phase – thinking carefully, researching, reading, looking at van builds in order to put her own custom design together. “I designed it down to the millimeter” she said. She then located a couple with a business called “Roaming Wild Campers” to do the build.
She estimates the costs at $26,000 for the base van and $45,000 for the build. I am guessing that this is Australian Dollars. Quick conversion, at the current rate that is $17,958 USD for the van and $31,081 USA for the build, which gives a total of $49,039.
I like the “moon roof” which, unlike the typical “bubble roof” you see on campers, slides all the way open and allows a person to poke their head out and check out the view.
I like her safety tip for ladies doing van life, which is to be sure that there is access from the cab through to the back, meaning that if there is a concerning situation, you can go from the back to the front without having to leave the van, and simply drive away.
Clare’s final advice is to plan, plan, plan before you start, so that you end up with a final result you are truly happy with.

An amazing discovery in an abandoned house in Austin, Texas: A lost book of amazing survival knowledge, believed to have been long vanished to history, has been found in a dusty drawer in the house which belonged to a guy named Claude Davis.
Remember... back in those days, there was no electricity... no refrigerators... no law enforcement... and certainly no grocery store or supermarkets... Some of these exceptional skills are hundreds of years of old and they were learned the hard way by the early pioneers.
We've lost to history so much survival knowledge that we've become clueless compared to what our great grandfathers did or built on a daily basis to sustain their families.
Neighbors said that for the last couple of years Claude has tried to unearth and learn the forgotten ways of our great-grandparents and claimed to have found a secret of gargantuan proportions. A secret that he is about to reveal together with 3 old teachings that will change everything you think you know about preparedness:
