Video: Building A DIY Greenhouse

This video tutorial is the first in a short series that gives full instructions for building your own large greenhouse! As all keen gardeners know, a greenhouse gives you the opportunity to grow more tender crops that won’t produce very well “exposed to the elements” – as well as extending your growing season by protecting young plants from frost.
With a greenhouse you can sow seeds early in the year to have well-established plants ready to plant out in the spring, or even grow some winter crops. There’s quite a lot of work involved in growing your own food but growing under cover makes for better yields and better quality produce so it’s well worth doing.
A small greenhouse will soon fill up if you want to use it for growing tomatoes, cucumbers, melons or peppers. The cost of buying a bigger commercial greenhouse can take a lot of the fun out of growing your own food by making it into an expensive hobby instead of a way to save money on grocery bills. So a home made greenhouse like this one is far cheaper and makes for a satisfying DIY project at the same time. Note also that the smaller the greenhouse, the greater its tendency to overheat on a warm sunny day.
This is a great design and looks stronger than many others I’ve seen, although there is a small weak spot in the design, pointed out in one of the comments: there’s a chance that the PVC pipe will crack where it sits on the rebar stakes – to avoid this, add short sections of 3/4 inch PVC to cover the exposed ends of the rebar before placing the 1 inch PVC frame over the top.
One important issue to consider is the plastic covering used for your greenhouse. Polythene sheeting from the DIY store is likely to degrade quickly when it’s exposed to ultraviolet light from the sun. There’s also more chance of it being damaged by strong winds or heavy snowfalls – it’s worth spending the extra cash to buy horticultural grade plastic for your cover to avoid having to replace it every year or two.
The materials list and diagram for this project took a while to find! We did the searching for you and here is the link you’ll need: http://www.garden.org/howtovideos/index.php?page=video001_007

An amazing discovery in an abandoned house in Austin, Texas: A lost book of amazing survival knowledge, believed to have been long vanished to history, has been found in a dusty drawer in the house which belonged to a guy named Claude Davis.
Remember... back in those days, there was no electricity... no refrigerators... no law enforcement... and certainly no grocery store or supermarkets... Some of these exceptional skills are hundreds of years of old and they were learned the hard way by the early pioneers.
We've lost to history so much survival knowledge that we've become clueless compared to what our great grandfathers did or built on a daily basis to sustain their families.
Neighbors said that for the last couple of years Claude has tried to unearth and learn the forgotten ways of our great-grandparents and claimed to have found a secret of gargantuan proportions. A secret that he is about to reveal together with 3 old teachings that will change everything you think you know about preparedness:
