“Shotgun Shack” Family Remodels Tiny Home For $700!

It’s great to see the Jordan family finding some peace of mind after downsizing to a smaller property. This ten-minute video by takes us on a tour of their small home and business as well as showing how they remodeled upwards by lifting the roof (by hand!) and raising the walls of the upstairs bedroom – all done with only $700 worth of materials!
The housing issue is a challenge for so many of us – prices are way high for buying or rental and paying for where we live tends to be the biggest cost that we incur every month. If only we could remove that drain on our income, life would be so much less stressful!
Western culture tells us repeatedly that we can only be happy when we’ve dreamed big and made it big. The size of the average new American home has increased by 50 percent since 1970 and a similar trend has been seen in most western countries – this short video is a ray of hope and an inspiration – a simpler way of living that might make for a contented life.
For young people wanting to step on to the housing ladder, it’s as though the first few rungs have been removed – for many it becomes an impossible dream. The dream is brought back to life if more young people find an incentive to work for something that is realistic to achieve – a home is an important basic need that within the last few decades has become a lifetime’s work (and a lot of it to pay interest on borrowed money!) instead of a step along the way.
For me, the best feature of this house is the creativity that has gone into being super-efficient in the use of available space – it is done so well that everything has a place without looking cluttered. Ok, it wouldn’t suit everyone to be in a house this size but the family’s attitude really does make it work!
More people are finding that small properties are the best way forward in difficult economic times. There are now listings dedicated solely to “tiny houses”, here is one in the US to have a look at: http://tinyhouselistings.com/

An amazing discovery in an abandoned house in Austin, Texas: A lost book of amazing survival knowledge, believed to have been long vanished to history, has been found in a dusty drawer in the house which belonged to a guy named Claude Davis.
Remember... back in those days, there was no electricity... no refrigerators... no law enforcement... and certainly no grocery store or supermarkets... Some of these exceptional skills are hundreds of years of old and they were learned the hard way by the early pioneers.
We've lost to history so much survival knowledge that we've become clueless compared to what our great grandfathers did or built on a daily basis to sustain their families.
Neighbors said that for the last couple of years Claude has tried to unearth and learn the forgotten ways of our great-grandparents and claimed to have found a secret of gargantuan proportions. A secret that he is about to reveal together with 3 old teachings that will change everything you think you know about preparedness:
