This fantastic video shows Treehouse Masters giving a guided tour of a spectacular recently completed 2-story treehouse. This treehouse is off the charts. It’s not just a treehouse, it is literally a luxury home in a tree. The video follows below our commentary.
Treehouses have evidently come a long way in the last few decades. My first thought was “Is this a bit over the top?” but then I quickly learned that they have made extensive use of recycled materials. I’d encourage them to go one step further and source locally, however. There are also some fantastic original features such as a “moss tapestry” art piece that looks alive – a perfect complement to the natural surroundings. This is truly a wonderful, atmospheric home. For the ultimate in tranquil surroundings, it’s hard to imagine being anywhere more relaxing.
With a title like “Behind The Build”, I was hoping for some “tech talk” on the methods of construction – but this video is strictly a show piece – demonstrating what’s possible. From a technical viewpoint – it seems that rather than using the tree exclusively as a structural component, the treehouse does in fact have some ground support and wraps itself around the tree, including it as a feature. I’m imagining also that the tree needs to be given room to grow – otherwise the new growth would start to break the treehouse apart. I wonder what the life expectancy of these treehouses is and how they prolong their lifespan.
The Treehouse Masters have their own full series and clearly the demand for these “next level” treehouses is great.
