Fire is an essential component of survival in the wild. It’s your source of warmth after setting up a camp. We use it to cook our food, to boil water to make it safe for drinking and it also serves as protection from wild animals. The loud snapping sounds of burning wood, the smoke and the flame can help keep those predators away.

If you want to go camping or are in a survival situation during the height of the winter season, it’s going to be a bit challenging to set up a campfire. Layers of snow and frozen ground will make it especially difficult. However, if you know the ways to create a fire, you will be able to build long lasting flames that will warm you up during a freezing winter night.

We’ve found a great video tutorial by IA Woodsman that will teach you how to create long lasting fires using a special technique called the long fire.

Location is essential if you want to create fire. Take a shovel and remove the snow so that you’ll be able to work on solid ground. If the ground is too thick with snow, pack it down so that you can create a flat, solid platform.

Unless you have logs of wood already prepared, try looking for fallen timber. Dead, fallen trees burn much better than ones that are still standing. Green (living) wood contains moisture and is hard to burn – it should not be used. You can also find dead branches still on living trees and these can be brought down (so long as it is safe to do so) for some usable firewood. Don’t worry if it is covered in light snow. It will still be dry enough to use for burning.

To start a fire it is quintessential to get good tinder. You can make use of dry bark, scraps of paper, pine cones or fallen pine needles. Once you get the fire started, put your moist logs around the fire so that the heat will be able to help dry them out and make them burn better.

This Crazy Off Grid Device Literally Makes Drinkable Water From Fresh Air:

According to NASA, the U.S. is expecting a 100-YEAR LONG MEGADROUGHT.

It's already begun. Ask the farmers in California. They know.

Every survivalist knows that water is of critical importance. You NEED an independent water source that you can count on!

As an interesting "survival rehearsal" - imagine that you turned the tap on right now and nothing came out. How long would you last?

But what if there was another water source literally hidden in plain sight. That's right, I'm talking about the atmosphere!

The amazing thing about getting water from the natural moisture in the air... is that it is ALWAYS available.

This gives you real water security!

😳 What Tinnitus Does To Your Brain Cells (And How To Stop It)

After 47 years of studies and countless brain scans done on more than 2,400 tinnitus patients, scientists at the MIT Institute found that in a shocking 96% of cases, tinnitus was actually shrinking their brain cells.

As it turns out, tinnitus and brain health are strongly linked.

Is because they are using something called "the wire method", a simple protocol inspired by a classified surgery on deaf people from the 1950s...
