Ciabatta is a very famous Italian bread. It’s usually made from whole wheat flour and yeast. The name “ciabatta” is the Italian word for “slipper” and it derived its name from the similarity in shape. It’s one of my most favorite breads to eat and I love to make garlic bread and panini with it (check below for the recipes)!

You might have considered it a bit daunting to make your own bread because kneading the dough typically requires arm power. However if you’re the type of person who just wants to have freshly baked bread without having to knead your dough, then this recipe by Food Wishes will teach you how to make the easiest Ciabatta bread ever!

While you’re preparing the mixture, make sure that the temperature of the water is just right. This is very crucial because the yeast won’t activate if the water is too cold. The enzymes will also get killed if the water is too hot. One way to test the heat of the water is to pour a bit of it on the back of your hand (don’t try this out if you see steam rising from the water because you might get burnt). If it’s tolerably warm, you can now incorporate it into the mixture to create the dough.

It was mentioned in the video that the fresh Ciabatta is best eaten hot with a pat of butter on top. Sounds yummy, right? Well, I have another option. Brush or drizzle the slice of ciabatta with extra virgin olive oil. Then take a clove of garlic, slice it in half and brush it on the oiled side of the bread. Put this in the grill and you will have yummy garlic bread that’s perfect for pastas and soups! Oh, and did you see our post about making your own sun dried tomatoes?

You can also make panini with your freshly baked bread! Cut two slices of ciabatta. Take the first slice and apply a thin layer of pesto on top. Next, place thin slices of chicken breast over the pesto. Layer some tomatoes on top of the chicken, cheese (such as smoked mozzarella) and some freshly shredded lettuce. Spread some light mayo on the second slice of bread and then place it over the filling. Take the sandwich and place it on a panini maker. If you are not in possession of a panini maker, you can take a flat pan and drizzle a small amount of butter or olive oil and heat it on the stove to brown the sandwich.

I’m seriously hungry now. Time to raid the fridge… 😉

😳 What Tinnitus Does To Your Brain Cells (And How To Stop It)

After 47 years of studies and countless brain scans done on more than 2,400 tinnitus patients, scientists at the MIT Institute found that in a shocking 96% of cases, tinnitus was actually shrinking their brain cells.

As it turns out, tinnitus and brain health are strongly linked.

Is because they are using something called "the wire method", a simple protocol inspired by a classified surgery on deaf people from the 1950s...

An amazing discovery in an abandoned house in Austin, Texas: A lost book of amazing survival knowledge, believed to have been long vanished to history, has been found in a dusty drawer in the house which belonged to a guy named Claude Davis.

Remember... back in those days, there was no electricity... no refrigerators... no law enforcement... and certainly no grocery store or supermarkets... Some of these exceptional skills are hundreds of years of old and they were learned the hard way by the early pioneers.

  1. Thanks for this great video! I can`t wait to make this. Love your secret tip about using butter… OMG! I can`t believe I`ve never tried this!! And I don`t care what you say, you DO have a sexy voice, LOL! Now, if you could teach me how to make pita and naan in an electric oven, I`d be even more delighted! Seriously sharing this video immediately!

  2. A local bistro that was located in Elkins, WV made ciabatte bread French toast with either a raspberry or blueberry relish. They were so good. I make my own French toast with ciabatta bread and top with berries and some strawberry or blueberry syrup. So good. I like the firmer texture and they don’t get soggy.

  3. Thanks tons for this bread recipe. In Israel we call the tip of the bread “kiss” (neshika), since in a bakery the loafs touch or “kiss” one another on the baking dish.

  4. I’m going to try it, looks great,I spread avocado mixed with honey on it with cashews and cauliflower on the side for a great lunch followed by hot tea….yummy! Keep in mind , harder the bread the more chances of constipation, so I try to avoid the outside crust if too hard.

  5. ‘il tozzo’ is Italian for the heel of the bread. ‘cantuzz” might be Neapolitan because that is the Italian spoken by my grandparents.
