Have you ever thought of gardening on the wall? – It sounds a bit crazy for sure, but this short video by gardeningcentral will show you how to do just that… welcome to the world of Vertical Gardening!
Vertical Gardens or “living walls” are a brilliant way to make the most of every available space for growing plants. It’s ideal for growing herbs – as the presenter, Neville Passmore, suggests – because it means that you can have herbs right next to your kitchen (or even on the inside wall!) – perfect if you have no available ground nearby.
Making a vertical garden requires some basic equipment – it is a simple hydroponic growing system that needs a small pump to circulate nutrient-rich water. The system is very clean and could easily be run by a small solar panel to make the system completely self-contained and off grid. There are similarities with the idea of Forest Gardening, where several layers of planting occupy the same area.

The materials can often be reclaimed, which will give you that extra satisfaction of doing your bit for the environment!

Dont run out and do this, do some homework and you’ll find out that if the water gets too warm (over 80)you’ll have all kinds of unwanted growth in the reservoir…research first, this is a great way to grow given the right situation but heat isn’t you friend here…..
